Homersfield Parish Council – Community Woodland

Homersfield Parish Council manages a 4-acre area of community woodland located on the southern side of the parish. This mixed coniferous and deciduous woodland is potentially ancient in origin and holds ecological, historical and community value. The Angles Way, a recognised long-distance footpath, runs through the site, providing public access and connecting it to the wider countryside. St Mary's Church, a notable local landmark, lies just to the north.

The Parish Council is keen to ensure the woodland is properly managed for both conservation and community benefit. To this end, the Council has contacted The Suffolk Wildlife Trust to seek professional advice on sustainable woodland management and on measures to encourage greater biodiversity. The intention is to develop a long-term plan that improves habitat quality, enhances public access where appropriate and supports local wildlife, while recognising the woodland's heritage and significance to the village.

Further updates will be shared as discussions and recommendations progress.
